A FEW WORDS FROM THE CAST
“After 30+ years in the motion picture industry, I’ve come to the conclusion, that the most artistic ventures are in what can be loosely termed the low-budget independents, like this movie. I found that when there is a lack of funds creativity has to substitute for big-budget money. Working on this motion picture was tremendous fun, because Jose’s enthusiasm and genuine optimism were a pleasure to work around. It was somewhat difficult, being that we shot at night. However, I had a great time, and the atmosphere on the set was lighthearted. I wasn’t there to make a lot of money, I’m just there to participate in the art form. I believe that young creative people coming from these kinds of experiences are the next George Lucas’s and Steven Spielbergs.”
-RICHARD LYNCH (GENERAL MORTON)
“During the CORPSES ARE FOREVER shoot, I was greatly impressed with our young director-writer, Jose Prendes, who showed genuine commitment and creative flair. I played Dr. Emily Thesiger -- a smart DNA scientist, complete with a white lab coat, eye-glasses, and hair in a tight bun. Since I actually WAS a scientist at one time, this wasn't too much of a stretch. My favorite scene, however, was during the exciting zombie-attack climax, when I unleashed my "inner babe": the lab coat flew open, my hair fell down around my shoulders, the glasses came off, and I hoisted a big gun to fight the undead horde. Va-va-voom.”
-BRINKE STEVENS (DOCTOR THESIGER)
”Linnea rejuvinated me when she dyed my hair on the set. Her golden hands worked on me and I sort of became alive. It was exciting, here I had an opportunity to be in a movie with three beautiful scream queens. It was an honor to appear in this film. It was very simple to prepare for my character, I just fell into it. It becomes automatic when you like the role, and then I’m able to perform. If you like the character, then you can become it. When you work with good people, you're good.”
-CONRAD BROOKS (MISTER FAIRBRASS)
"Being that I played the tortured soul, Gina, I got to laugh a lot off camera! Jerry and J (CREW GUYS) kept me giggling with those delicious soft drinks and off color jokes-all the while putting green shit on my face, teeth and hair! Jose was great in developing my character with me the whole day while riding around Miami discovering, perhaps, that Gina is a lesbian!! And lastly, Debbie was a dream scene partner I had the pleasure to work with, even though I was sweating all over her...it was a hot set!"
-FELISSA ROSE (GINA)
“It was amazing to work on Jose's movie. I got to do some work with him doing some actors' makeup and rehearsing with Don Calfa a lot and just hanging and helping as much as I could since I want him to make it. I loved how he was changing things, so at 3 or 4 in the morning I had different lines and would screw up. And he would just look and go 'OH MAN' but he had no new lines, so it was easier for him. HaHaHa."
-LINNEA QUIGLEY (ELI KROGER)
“Jose’s opts to write multi-layered, complicated AND enjoyable scripts instead of wimping out with run-of-the-mill, bland, seen-it-before horror stories. Not only did Jose oversee aspects of the shoot everyday, he also starred in the movie and yet he still found time to take Brinke Stevens and I out for breakfast every single day. This was a special film for me because I had the opportunity to be in a very cool, original flick with Linnea Quigley. I've had the pleasure of working with Brinke many times in the past, but this was my first outing with Linnea. One of the funniest elements while shooting Corpses had to be my plastic spy suit. It made so much noise crinkling and squeeking every time I moved, walked or even just took a breath! I would ask the sound guy every day if it was going to be a problem, and he assured me it wasn't. Then a couple months later, Jose got the footage back. The sound was horrible. So I had to re-record all of my dialogue that took place while I was wearing that plastic suit.”
-DEBBIE ROCHON (MARGUERITE)
"It was a greulling schedule and lots of late nights. At times I thought I was
becoming schizophrenic but it was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. I can't think of a better way to have spent my 40th Birthday...with such a great group of people!"
-BILL PERLACH (PREACHER)
“This film can be called my ode to spy movies and zombies movies in general. I am a fan of both and realized what a cool movie I could make if I combined my two favorite genres. The tough part was shooting on a limited budget. I wanted to make a tough, gritty Sean Connery-style Bond picture, because I couldn’t afford the high-tech gadgetry of today’s spies. We couldn’t have hovercrafts and lasers in this one.
“`CORPSES’ was a tough shoot. It was strenuous on everyone involved, but what low-budget shoot doesn’t have its setbacks. We shot nights for three weeks straight, which was a strain on our crew, especially those with day jobs. Nevertheless, everyone pitched in (including some cooperative actors), and the end result is a beautiful-looking horror thriller. I met my girlfriend on set, she was my Assistant Director, and we fell head over heels in love after all the chaos of shooting was done with. That’s the other good thing that came out of all this.”

LIVING DEAD WITH A LICENSE TO KILL
This film was excellent. There were so many things I could spew out that rocked serious fool about this movie. For instance, you’ve got blood, zombies, chicks with guns, and the beautiful Mrs. Rochon in black plastic. Jose Prendes’ directing as well as his acting shows just how much talent this young director has to bring to this world. He took your average "DAWN OF THE DEAD" zombies and Bond-like themes and made them work. This was a shocker of a movie for me. Highly recommended. I’m anxious to see what he does with "THE CORPSE WHO LOVED ME". The cast alone should be enough to make anyone want to see this movie.

"An intricate story and impressive production values. There are shots in this film suitable for framing. It’s a gutsy movie."
